Abella Dental Team

David A. Knopf, DDS
Dr. Knopf was born and raised in Bellevue. After graduating from Newport High School, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington. In 1996, he moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where Dr. Knopf attended dental school.
In 2001, he was awarded his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Marquette University School of Dentistry. Later that year he returned to Bellevue and joined a group practice in Seattle.
In 2003, Dr. Knopf opened Abella Dental, a new private practice in downtown Bellevue.
Dr. Knopf spends considerable time learning and perfecting the latest techniques in dentistry. He thrives on learning new treatments. Dr. Knopf participates in monthly Study Club sessions with other dentists in the area to discuss various aspects of dentistry. The interaction with his peers is an integral part of his practice.
Dr. Knopf has three children, Madison, James and Payton.
Dr. Knopf is also an avid fisherman and enjoys weekend getaways to a quiet place where he can float down a river with line in hand. He also enjoys participating in his neighborhood’s monthly BBQ smoke-offs. In the fall and winter, you’re likely to find Dr. Knopf at Husky Stadium on game-day supporting the “Dawgs”.
John Cooke
John has been with the practice since it opened in 2003. He is responsible for the day-to-day management of the practice as well as handling all patient issues involving scheduling, financial planning, treatment coordination, and insurance administration.
Prior to joining Abella Dental, John worked for several years as the Office Manager at another dental practice.
He also brings to our team over 8 years of Customer Service & Management experience from two large wireless telecommunication companies. Before joining the high-tech industry, John worked for more than 9 years as a Pharmacy Technician.
John is a Seattle native. A true Sounders fan, you’ll find him in green and blue on most game days. He has a 9-year old Bichon Frise named Remmy.
John has a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Psychology from Seattle University.
Jamie
Jamie has been part of our Abella team for three years.
Prior to joining the Abella Dental team Jamie had been an assistant at another office for 3 years. Wanting to expand her dental knowledge and build her skills in a high tech practice, she joined Abella Dental.
Jamie received her dental assisting certification from Renton Technical College in 2004. She is a native of the Seattle area and a Seahawk’s fan through good and bad!
Jamie enjoys taking care of her new home, staying in shape and spending time with her fiancé & two precious babies, a Yorkshiere Terrier, Lola and a Puggle, Sophia Marie.
